"Let the uniqueness of the child guide our work."

“A child is a treasure, to be nurtured, to grow and flourish.”

Te Whariki, The Early Childhood Curriculum.

“Take care of our children. Take care of what they hear, take care of what they see, take care of what they feel. For how the children grow will be the shape of Aotearoa.”

That which is nurtured blossoms and grows.

Tamariki Health

Te Atawhai aims to provide a warm and safe environment with positive outcomes for both you and your tamaiti. Your tamaiti's health and safety is paramount!

In the event of your tamaiti being sick we recommend that you keep them at home until they are well enough to attend. Should your tamaiti become ill at the centre or show symptoms of ill health, you will be notified. Your tamaiti must be collected as soon as possible and signed out.

If your tamaiti is diagnosed with a contagious illness please talk to us before your tamaiti returns. We follow the guidelines of Local Health Providers and recommend that all tamariki are immunized. However if your tamaiti is not immunized we will notify you of an outbreak of a contagious illness. Safety is a collective priority!

Sign In and Out

The “Sign in and Sign out” sheet must be completed at the beginning and end of each day. This form is situated in the over two’s room, please ask a teacher to show you. Signing in and out is a legal requirement and helps keeps your tamaiti safe. Please ensure that you keep to the booked hours that you have signed and agreed to on your enrollment form. Please see a staff member if you need to adjust these hours.

Please notify the centre (as soon as possible) of any absences which may occur such as sickness, holidays, etc so that we can be sure that your tamaiti is safe.
